2. Steel Strap Dispenser

3. Headstock

  • Equipped with 4 sets of smart strapping heads
  • A smart strapping head moves separately by hydraulic cylinder and tightly binds/ seals to the circumference of coil
  • It is designed to compress coil by force of up to 40 tons while moving along the rail frame by hydraulic cylinder.

4. Tailstock

  • Mounting of 4 sets of strap guide channels
  • It is designed to compress coil by force of up to 40 tons while moving along the rail frame by hydraulic cylinder.

5. Strap guide channel

  • Guiding device for wrapping the coil with the straps which are automatically supplied

6. Hydraulic cylinder

  • Coil is compressed between the main shaft and the subordinate shaft which are moved by 2 pairs of hydraulic cylinders facing each other

7. Coil lifter

  • Operated by a hydraulic cylinder and slightly lifted from the hook to prevent damage when compressing coil

8. Rail frame

  • Compression strength: Max. 40 tons
  • It guides the headstock and tailstock and are firmly fixed to the anchor frame.

9. Anchor frame

  • It is designed to withstand compressive strength over 40 tons and the bottom is buried in concrete.

10. Wheel with eccentric shaft

  • Wheel can be adjusted by eccentric shaft.

11. Hydraulic equipment

  • Coil compression strength and speed can be controlled automatically or manually with HMI.

Features of Steel Strapping M/C with Smart Head

  • Since SM-HEAD SH-32W (S) is powered by a servomotor, the most suitable tension can be individually controlled depending on the thickness and size of the coil.
  • Owing to the build-in load cell, it is possible to check the binding force directly.
  • <Welding type> It is an optimized spot welding mechanism and the binding force is the same with the seal type since weld defect hardly occurs.
  • <Welding type> It is a structure with spark factor eliminated and the service life of electrode is very long.
  • Owing to built-in leveler, binding free of deviation is possible even if there are some defects such as bending on the strap.
  • The service life of the traction wheel is 5 times longer than other models and the surface of the strap is not damaged.
  • Since the length of the strap supply is controlled by the servomotor, the overlap can be minimized and very economical (Appropriate overlap: 30 ~ 50 mm).
    • Strap reduction: In case of average 8-point binding for coil -> (-) 1600mm/ coil (about 0.32kg)
    • Savings/ day: About 96kg, Annual savings: about 31.7 tons
    • Annual saving amount: 31,700 kg x 1200 = 38,040,000n won/ line

  • By applying a special aluminum alloy body, 40%~60% lighter weight than other models available and faster operation speed to reduce the process time by more than 30%
  • There is no freezing in winter owing to extremely low air consumption.
  • Replacement or maintenance time for consumable parts: 2 ~ 10 minutes
    • Head in use <- exchange -> spare head: Groups of 2 persons within 10 minutes
